Mike Normant

Mike Normant is a respected Training & Development leader with a strong track record of implementing high quality business-driven programs in fast growing companies. He is fueled by a desire to have a significant impact on the way employers treat their people. In 2012, Mike launched his own consulting firm to work directly with both companies and individuals, broadening the scope of his impact. He is in the process of becoming a certified coach through the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara.

EXPERIENCE
Mike has deep experience in the corporate world with over 15 years working in corporate HR departments, primarily in Training & Development, and almost 10 years working as a technical/business consultant.

Most recently, Mike ran the global Training & Development function at ServiceSource. His team played a critical role in growing the company (from 400 to 1800 employees during his five year stint) through robust onboarding and sales training programs. He built the company’s management development program and personally delivered some of that content. Prior to that, Mike was the Director of Learning & Development at eBay where he was responsible for multiple global programs and initiatives (as eBay grew from 2000 to 10,000 employees). He launched eBay’s successful week-long leadership development program, Leadership eBay, which was targeted at groups of 25 participants (Director and above) at a time. Mike was a lead facilitator of this program.

Before eBay, Mike served for three years as the Director of Career Navigation at Scient, an ebusiness consulting startup.

Mike began his career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where he worked on a variety of technical and business consulting projects at clients such as Lucky Stores, Safeway, Hills Bros. Coffee, Raychem, and Levi Strauss. Mike worked on large systems installations, business process reengineering projects, and in factories implementing JIT methods. He then worked internally at Andersen Consulting for several years in Human Resources roles focused on company culture and employee retention/engagement.

EDUCATION/TRAINING
Mike is certified on PDI’s 360 feedback tools and is certified to teach Interaction Styles and Myers-Briggs personality type models. He is also certified to teach Situational Leadership. Mike holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

PERSONAL
Mike was born and raised in the Bay Area where he has lived most of his life. He loves to watch soccer and yearns to get back out on the pitch himself someday. Mike loves to be outdoors whenever possible, his favorite sound is that of rushing water. He enjoys jam bands and has seen at least 25 concerts a year starting in 2009.
