Kelly Herrick. Board of Directors
Kelly Herrick, who has more than 12 years of software product
training experience, was most recently at salesforce.com where he
was the Director of Global Learning Services. At salesforce.com, Herrick was responsible for customer education throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
Additionally, Herrick was the Senior Director of Oracle University, Americas Division, at Oracle Corporation. In this position, Herrick was responsible for product and technical training, sales and professional development, advanced degree programs, management training and executive learning via classroom, Web, video, CD-ROM, and interactive distance learning in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
Jonathan Dunn. Producer / Writer
During his 25-year career, which includes a lengthy stint as a staff producer for NBC’s DATELINE, Jonathan Dann has received nearly every major broadcast journalism award, including three Peabody Awards and three duPont-Columbia Awards. He won his third duPont-Columbia Award for producing the PBS special “War Stories from Ward #7D,” which followed the struggles of Iraq War veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury. In 2011, he was a finalist for a Gerald Loeb Award for financial reporting.
Dann also produced the highest rated program in CNBC history, “Marijuana Inc: Inside America’s Pot Industry.” The hour-long documentary has aired over 100 times and was nominated for a national Emmy. “Dann’s dedication was enormous, his enthusiasm was contagious,” wrote CNBC Correspondent Trish Regan in her recent book on the underground pot trade.
Dann’s other CNBC productions include the following: “Tom Brokaw Reports: Boomer$!,” a two-hour documentary on the legacy and challenges of the baby boom generation, featuring in-depth interviews with President Bill Clinton and actor Tom Hanks, and reported by NBC Senior Correspondent Tom Brokaw, with whom Dann collaborated closely as the program’s creator and senior producer; “Goldman Sachs: Power and Peril,” which was a finalist for the aforementioned Loeb Award; and “Swoosh! Inside Nike,” which was nominated for a national Emmy.
Before his death in 1998, TV news legend Fred Friendly (George Clooney’s character in the movie feature Good Night and Good Luck) praised Jon Dann in a speech before the Radio and Television News Directors Association. In her recently published memoir, San Francisco television anchor/reporter Belva Davis wrote the following about Dann: “… fearless – a guy who felt endowed to crack open the earth to get the news.”
As a staff producer at DATELINE for three years, Dann’s work included in-depth reports as well as tight deadline “crashes.” He has received 12 regional Emmy’s.
Meg Ellis Master Trainer and Solutions Expert
Meg Ellis, holds a B.S. in Math and a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology. She studied ontological coaching with Newfield Network including Coaching in Business and Leveraging the Non-Verbal. In business since 1988, her professional offerings include executive coaching, designing and facilitating leadership programs and team off-sites, and 360-feedback services. She leads Myers-Briggs® Qualifying programs for Type Resources. Clients include Apple, BEA Systems, Blue Shield of CA, GE Financial Services, Genentech, Morgan Stanley, Sun Microsystems and more. In her former life, Meg was a corporate programmer, systems analyst, and computer salesperson. Then she discovered her type!
Mike Normant. Training & Development Leader
Mike Normant is a respected Training & Development leader with a strong track record of implementing high quality business-driven programs in fast growing companies. He is fueled by a desire to have a significant impact on the way employers treat their people. In 2012, Mike launched his own consulting firm to work directly with both companies and individuals, broadening the scope of his impact. He is in the process of becoming a certified coach through the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara.
Mike has deep experience in the corporate world with over 15 years working in corporate HR departments, primarily in Training & Development, and almost 10 years working as a technical/business consultant.
Most recently, Mike ran the global Training & Development function at ServiceSource. His team played a critical role in growing the company (from 400 to 1800 employees during his five year stint) through robust onboarding and sales training programs. He built the company’s management development program and personally delivered some of that content. Prior to that, Mike was the Director of Learning & Development at eBay where he was responsible for multiple global programs and initiatives (as eBay grew from 2000 to 10,000 employees). He launched eBay’s successful week-long leadership development program, Leadership eBay, which was targeted at groups of 25 participants (Director and above) at a time. Mike was a lead facilitator of this program.
Before eBay, Mike served for three years as the Director of Career Navigation at Scient, an ebusiness consulting startup.
Mike began his career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) where he worked on a variety of technical and business consulting projects at clients such as Lucky Stores, Safeway, Hills Bros. Coffee, Raychem, and Levi Strauss. Mike worked on large systems installations, business process reengineering projects, and in factories implementing JIT methods. He then worked internally at Andersen Consulting for several years in Human Resources roles focused on company culture and employee retention/engagement.
Mike is certified on PDI’s 360 feedback tools and is certified to teach Interaction Styles and Myers-Briggs personality type models. He is also certified to teach Situational Leadership. Mike holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Mike was born and raised in the Bay Area where he has lived most of his life. He loves to watch soccer and yearns to get back out on the pitch himself someday. Mike loves to be outdoors whenever possible, his favorite sound is that of rushing water. He enjoys jam bands and has seen at least 25 concerts a year starting in 2009.
Linda Ernst. Master Trainer & Solutions Expert
Linda Ernst is a consultant and trainer, President of Training Resource, an independently owned consulting and training company. Since 1983, she has facilitated hundreds of custom designed in-house workshops for a wide range of industrial and organizational clients.
Linda has extensive preparation in adult learning theory, workshop presentation methods, facilitation techniques and instructional design. As an instructional design consultant, she has helped organizations develop courses in topics that include quality improvement, communication skills for managers, consulting skills for trainers, and using type dynamics to facilitate teams. She is equally comfortable presenting training to technical, supervisory and management audiences.
Linda facilitates group sessions for a variety of team experiences such as, staff and Board retreats, leadership team group activities, annual meetings and organization events. Linda is a co-author of The Guide to Facilitating the Self-Discovery Process ®; co-author of Quick Guide to the 16 Personality Types and Teams, a contributing author to the Quick Guide to the 16 Personality Types in Organizations. She is COO/Senior Faculty at Interstrength® Associates, a training and consulting company dedicated to serving individuals and organizations seeking to improve their overall functioning through more accurate self-knowledge, knowledge of others, effective communication and team work and an approved provider of MBTI Qualifying Programs.
